We were tasked with making some minor edits to these images and to merge them together.
I did this using various tools: spot healing to fix some minor blemishes and layer masks to cut the model out from the background. Adding a Gaussian blur to the street scene made it appear the final image was taken with a shallow depth of field.
This technique is useful for studio shoots with plain backgrounds, you could use it if you wanted a location shoot but wasn’t able to do it. Removing the plain background and adding the model into a new scene can be seamless. The trickiest part about this technique is the hair, which you may have to use the refine edge tool to get it right.
